Hi! Thanks for visiting my website! I'm an artist, illustrator, and surface designer living in lovely little Weehawken, NJ, a small town with a fabulous view of Manhattan. I've been making and drawing things as long as I can remember. I love color (especially turquoise), texture, yoga, flea markets, cooking, beautiful chairs, yellow Labs, chocolate, and the beach. I love to collect things (seashells, Bakelite bracelets, vintage dishes, anything turquoise....) My favorite mediums are watercolor, color pencil, and lately, Procreate...but I like to mix it up, and always have several kinds of projects going on at once. I work out of a small home studio and also share a larger space in Hoboken. I love to create art so much and find inspiration everywhere!
After receiving a BFA in Printmaking from Tyler School of Art, I went on to explore other processes, working as a freelance textile designer for women's apparel, painting on silk. My interests in three-dimensional work, detail and layering has led me down some varied paths: steel welding, silversmithing, and beaded sculpture. Recently I've been making fiber jewelry and mixed media assemblages out of wood, paper and my hand-painted silk. I just discovered encaustic. One type of work influences the others...the abstract assemblages reference surface design. Daily drawing, though, is the basis of all my art practice.
Last year I exhibited at Surtex for the first time, with an artists collective; it was a greatly educational and inspirational experience! I have participated in SOFA Chicago, the World of Threads Festival, won Best In Show from the New Mexico Bead Society for my beaded sushi, and am a member of the SCBWI...there are several children's book ideas simmering, as well as a book of illustrated recipes culled from childhood memories of my Ukrainian grandmother's excellent cooking.
My work is available for licensing and commission. What can I make for you today?
